- Afterschool Alliance Impossible Choices
Demand for afterschool programs remains unmet due to federal funding restrictions. The Afterschool Alliance's Impossible Choices report found that 26 states could not fund any new afterschool programs in 2005 with their federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers money, because of the failure to realize the increases authorized by No Child Left Behind.
